Ok Wow! I am seriously amazed by the people who stop by the shop all the time. Meet Gena. She’s a book editor, nutritionist, and blogger. Talk about talented! Last week she bought a pair of Marais Espadrilles and wrote about the experience on her blog, Choosing Raw. The post was awesome and focused on many aspects of being a “conscious shopper.” Gena’s philosophy on eating raw is: 100% is not the point. I LOVE that! 100% is not the point…. for all aspects of living consciously. It’s about changing the world/yourself in ways that you can.

I’m so glad Gena wrote me and gave me the opportunity to find her blog. I’m looking forward to becoming a frequent visitor and trying to incorporate more raw foods into my life. After checking out some of those recipes, I don’t think it’s going to be as hard as I thought. When Anna saw Jake at the San Diego Humane Society, it was love at first sight. For the past four years Jake has been Anna’s little shadow. Unfortunately, Jake has just been diagnosed with mast cell cancer and needs chemotherapy and an operation. As you can bet, these types of things are quite expensive. Fortunately, Jake’s momma is a lovely seamstress and is sewing up these adorable aprons to raise money to save his life. One of the neatest parts about owing a shop is getting to know your customers. After purchasing some goodies from the shop, Kate posted our “clothing sale” on her blog, which lead me to her adorable, vintage Etsy shop, Hello Victory. I am in love with that mug and (soy!) creamer set and have NEVER seen such a darling shot glass.

I just found the BEST father’s day gift guide on The Discerning Brute! It has everything a guy could want from books and movies to wearables and home goods. He even featured a couple electric motorcycles and a car! Check out the guide; it’s phenomenal. Gift giving woes resolved.

I’m still scouring the web for father’s day gifts. I hadn’t come across much until I headed on over to the Farm Sanctuary Gift Shop. There are tons of things fathers would love– hoodies, tees, caps and coffee mugs. Or, you could make a donation in your father’s name. That would be awesome! My dad would LOVE that cap though. Of course, while I was perusing for dad I found a few things I would like for myself… and my dogs… and for the house.
