I found this enchanting polyvore the other day and couldn't stop staring at it. I would never have thought of pairing the La Nina Bralette with a slim lacy skirt and open toe boots but it brilliantly works- has me longing for an artsy and romantic mid summer adventure in Paris.

I Can Tell That We Are Going to be Friends by Erin at KIND Boutique featuring Bodkin dresses

I've been a member of Polyvore for about a year now, but never used it until now. Why the heck not I have no idea. It is wonderful! Some of the collections on there sure can blow a girl away. I haven't quite figured out how to blow anyone away, but I'm going to keep working on it. Maybe I'll get lucky. I don't think my first turned out half bad though. It's titled I Can Tell That We Are Going to be Friends and the inspiration was heading back to school... a little collection evoking college life. Remember when you were in grade school and would plan out your outfits so that you never wore one twice? I think all girls did that.

So, I've been thinking it's time we had another giveaway. It's been almost a year since our last one, so yes we are way overdue for some giveaway fun. I'm not going to tell you what it is yet, but I'll give you a hint. It's in the above picture. And, it's going to be good. Check back Monday; I'll be announcing all the details.

Happy Weekend, Friends!

Fall is my favorite season. The air starts to cool, the colors get moody and romantic and I get to start enjoying hot coffee again. It's also when you get to start piling on the layers and perfect looking cozy, comfy and cool. But, right now fall seems like the furthest thing away with these 100+ temps. Luckily our first fall arrivals have been some amazing transitional pieces that you can enjoy now and later.

Take these dresses from Stewart + Brown. I've already been wearing the heck out of them. The light 100% organic pima cotton has been perfect for the sweltering heat. Of course, with fall being my favorite season, I've been exploring how I'm going to be styling these two when the temperatures start to drop and they look amazing with chunky sweaters and socks with boots. I've also discovered the Merrow Slip looks fantastic with Bodkin's Gamma Vest worn on top.

But, really the Gamma Vest looks amazing with everything- jeans, leggings, dresses, short skirts and with cardigans thrown on top. I can tell this vest will be a beloved closet treasure for a very long time.

We also have the Proton Dress from Bodkin. It's so soft and when worn without leggings makes a great little casual date dress. Now, the Fahrenheit Funnelneck is definitely not a hot summer wearable, but it's so cute! And, at 25% off it might just be worth snagging up now and admiring it in the closet until the time is right.

I just signed up for Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals with my good friend Davin! There wasn’t a walk in Fort Worth so we are making the couple hour drive to San Antonio to show our support. We are both so excited! For both of us, this is our first walk. We’ve also set up a fund raising page to try and help Farm Sanctuary raise the much needed funds for all of their education and advocacy efforts. Our goal is to raise $500! I hope we can do it! Did anyone watch the meteor shower last night? How was it? I read the best time to view was between mid night and 3 am. I was up at that time but I completely forgot! So disappointed. I did watch this lapsed video of the 2010 shower. It's stunningly beautiful although the music is hokey. Turn off the volume and watch.

Today also happens to be Friday the 13th. This combination is kind of special to our family. My parents met on a Friday the 13th and married on a Friday the 13th. Aww. I'm sure if I talk to my father today he'll tell me all about it.

Have you seen the new handbags we have in the shop from Urban Expressions? UE's entire line of bags is 100% cruelty free which is my favorite part. They also just happen to be contemporary, stylish and functional. Their extremely durable as well. I've been carrying an UE bag almost everyday for the past 8 months and it's still in amazing condition. I also get tons of compliments on it. Unlike a lot of faux leathers, theirs is the softest. The Charlotte is a hobo shaped bag with a braided strap. It has tons of room for everything you need to carry plus compartments for storing the things you don't want to dig around for. The striped fabric on the inside makes me the happiest.

The Lleida Carryall or tote is perfect for storing shopping trinkets, files, books and more and comes with an optional shoulder strap. The gold hardware on the slightly textured, black faux leather looks very chic.
According to some email I got (I'm thinking it was from either Piperlime or Net-a-Porter) satchels are in. I didn't know they were out. A satchel has always been my best friend (especially when I'm out thrifting or antique mall hopping) and I love our Zippered Satchel. It comes in either burgundy or gray, has an adjustable shoulder strap and tons of zippered compartments and details.

I've decided to start highlighting some of the local talent we have here in Fort Worth. To kick things off we begin with Blue Eye Brown Eye! This tightly curated collection of handmade and handpicked vintage items is run the be creative Lauren Essl.

Lauren's shop is filled with vintage wedding dresses (which were beautifully photographed by her friend Anna Routh) and cake toppers, vintage hanky pillows (that you can get custom embroidered. I'm trying to think of something cute to get stitched into this one) and letterpress, hand printed and embroidered paper goods.
